Waterford Social Trip - Rockin' Good time

On Saturday the 12th of July 2014, Service Users of Right of Place Second Chance held their first Social Event, outside of the building for what felt like an eternity.
So after consultation with Service Users - a Boat trip to explore the rich and varied history of the County Waterford Coastline was agreed upon. As many Survivors ended up in the Navy after their release it seemed like a perfect mix - and so it proved.
D -"Absolutely Brilliant. I Loved it, wonderful Experience"
P -"Having spent time in the Navy, It was great"
A total of 10 Survivors and Dependents made the trip (sorry to those who didn't get their name down early). Leonard O'Neill, the owner and instructor of the Boat even allowed some people to drive it - (which luckily there was no traffic around, judging by some of the driving skills)
Right throughout the trip - there was songs, stories and an explanation of the history of certain areas, of a rich maritime past. Leonard pointed out significant historical areas and it was excellent.
John - "Can I come on the next one!"
Afterwards, all present went for a small bite of lunch to round of what proved to be a remarkable and enjoyable day for all involved. This was such a success, that another trip has been approved and will be run on the the 8/08/2014 (weather permitting) - So hurry up, there is only two places left already as our last trip was oversubscribed.
Our Special thanks go to our Volunteer Trish Walsh for making it happen, coupled with assistance from the ROP/SC Social Group Sub Committee and of course to Leonard who gave us the use of the Boat completely Free of charge. Showing when you do good things, good things will always happen in return.
So Hurry up - Get you name down for the next trip - already only a small number of places remain. Also, make sure you stay in contact with the office and note your interest in Social Activities as we will have a number upcoming over the next number of months.
